Rattlesnake Point Fall Field Training Exercise

Dates: 29,30 September, 1 October


Details of Event:

The 676 will be conducting a bivouac and field craft exercise at Rattlesnake Point and Kelso Conservation Areas. Cadets will be transported by bus to Rattlesnake Point where camp will be established.


Activities will include hiking, biking and canoeing at Kelso.


All meals will be provided and dress for the weekend will be appropriate camping clothing, with long pants and running shoes (no sandals or backless shoes). Cadets should be prepared for inclement & cool weather.  


Health & Fitness Requirements

Your Cadet must be free of sickness or injuries that would affect their participation in this event.  Cadets that are not able to fully participate in this event are not authorized to attend.

Kit List:

Cadets must bring the following items:


Cadets should be prepared for cold weather with temperatures below freezing at night.


  1. Health card (your health card must be presented to board the bus)
  2. Canteen/holder/belt
  3. Clothing for outdoor activities.- weather appropriate sufficient for 3 days including:
  1. Rain gear - jacket and pants
  2. Combat clothing must be worn for Friday and will be required for night navigation camouflage and concealment exercise.
  3. Running shoes/Hiking boots suitable for cold, wet and mud conditions.
  4. Folding Camp type chair labelled with cadets' name on chair and bag.
  5. Flashlight
  6. Toothbrush, soap, shampoo, towel
  7. Sunscreen
  8. Sunglasses
  9. Hat (mandatory)
  10. Sleeping bag (Mandatory)/pillow/sleeping pad
